Define Location:

In this phase, you establish specific locations within a plant. A location enables the classification of a plant based on spatial or situational criteria.

The following master data objects can be associated with these locations:

• Asset master records from Asset Management

• Equipment

• Functional locations

• Work centers

• Production resources/tools

Locations serve solely for informational purposes. They can be utilized to organize a matchcode or as parameter criteria in reporting.

It is important to note that locations do not provide any functional capabilities regarding hierarchies or similar structures.
