Define Business Area:

In this section, you will establish business areas.

A business area serves as an organizational unit within accounting, signifying a distinct segment of operations or responsibilities within a business entity.

To define a business area, you will need to input a four-character alphanumeric identifier along with the name of the business area.

Within a client, multiple business areas can be configured, allowing the system to allocate postings across all company codes associated with that client.

To maintain uniformity in document entries, it is advisable to use identical names for business areas across all company codes.

All additional specifications for your business areas can be found in the Financial Accounting Implementation Guide.

Menu Path:

SPRO-SAP Reference IMG-Enterprise structure-Definition-Financial accounting-Define Business Area.
