The employee subgroup is a specific category within the broader employee group. Defining these subgroups is a crucial step in establishing your organizational structure. Subsequent steps will involve assigning various features to these subgroups, which will be addressed in the context of their business application.
The following business subtasks are included, among others:
• Definition of processes in payroll accounting
• Determination of the applicability of primary wage types
• Establishment of work schedule validity
• Clarification of pay scale group applicability
• Identification of time quota type validity
For instance, within the Active employee group, you may want to differentiate between industrial workers, salaried employees, trainees, and executives. This differentiation allows for several advantages:
• You can perform evaluations that include or exclude specific employee subgroups.
• Certain personnel administrators may be restricted to managing data for designated employee subgroups only.
• Based on the employee subgroup, you can set different default values in master data processing (for example, executives may have a higher leave entitlement compared to salaried employees).
