A warehouse complex is identified in the Warehouse Management system by a unique warehouse number, which signifies a comprehensive warehouse configuration.
The physical location plays a crucial role in determining the warehouse number's definition. This number serves to consolidate various storage types and storage bins, which are organized and maintained as a cohesive unit.
All warehouse operations, including the placement and removal of stock, are conducted within the framework of a warehouse number.
The characteristics of a warehouse number include:
• It does not possess a physical address but is accompanied by a brief descriptive text.
• Specific material data pertinent to the warehouse number can be stored.
• Stock figures within each warehouse number are managed in terms of quantities rather than monetary values.
• Multiple storage locations within a plant can be linked to the same warehouse number.
