Create Personnel Areas:

The personnel area serves as an organizational unit that delineates a specific segment of the enterprise, structured around personnel management, time tracking, and payroll functions. Each personnel area is further segmented into multiple personnel subareas, which embody the business characteristics. It is essential to establish at least one personnel subarea for every personnel area to effectively assign these business characteristics, even if the personnel subareas are not actively utilized within your enterprise framework.

The definition of personnel areas marks the initiation of the enterprise structure setup. In subsequent steps within the Implementation Guide (IMG), you will assign specific characteristics to these personnel areas, which are addressed concurrently with their business establishment.

For instance, Company A operates three production facilities in India: Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi. In the SAP System, these locations would be represented as three distinct personnel areas.

It is important to familiarize yourself with your enterprise structure.

The standard system includes several example personnel areas.
