Define Distribution Channel:

In this IMG activity, you will either define new distribution channels for your organization or modify existing ones. To ensure that the functional scope of a distribution channel aligns with your company's structure, please follow this checklist:

• Assign a distribution channel to one or more sales organizations.

• Link one or more plants to a distribution channel.

• Within each distribution channel, you have the ability to establish your own master data for customers or materials, along with specific conditions and pricing.

• You can create master data for a representative distribution channel, which can also be utilized in other distribution channels. This requires you to establish the allocation of the representative channel to the other channels.

• For each distribution channel, you can specify your own types of sales documents.

• You can designate sales offices associated with a distribution channel.

• All items within a sales document are associated with a specific distribution channel, meaning the entire document is recorded under that channel.

• Items in a delivery can be associated with multiple distribution channels.

• All items in a billing document are linked to a distribution channel.

• The distribution channel can serve as a selection criterion in various lists.

• You can set different printer destinations for messages based on the sales and billing documents for each distribution channel.

The interface will appear as follows,



To create new entries, double-click on "Define Distribution Channel," and the subsequent screen will appear.



To establish a distribution channel, enter a two-character alphanumeric key along with a description, then press enter and click the save button.
The screen will display,



Select the checkmark icon, and the subsequent screen will appear.



Click the back button,



Press the back button once more, and the subsequent screen will appear.



To exit, click the close button, which will direct you to the Display IMG screen.
